I know this comment comes late :p but still, In gmail if u scroll waaaaaaay down to the bottom, there is a link called “Details”, if u click on it, it will show u the list of IP addresses from which your account has been accessed. It also gives you the option of signing out of other active sessions. Very useful thing that gmail labs(or gmail, not very sure) came up with.

Oh and one more safety feature would be to turn off web history in google settings. I dont know if there have been complaints regarding this, but i didnt like google tracking my search tags and saving it.

@Prashant: They usually give links in scraps. They execute JavaScripts that read the logged in password saved in your browser’s cookies and mail it to the author.

@Indra Mohan: Well it may have happened due to a lot of reasons – you might’ve used Gmail on a shared computer and left without signing off, or maybe someone (even a friend!) simply guessed your password. I’d strongly recommend you to – 1. Change your password. Use numbers and alphabets (uppercase and lowercase). 2. Setup secondary mail address (with a different password) 3. Occasionally backup important mail. Hope this helps

my gmail id is hacked and some some has changed its password . i can not access my account and i have some imporant mails in it. the problem had soled but always so much time how I save from hackers, and gmail administration did nothing , please help me
