What A Year So Far!
After the long hiatus, I’m back and HOW!? My project has been keeping me quite busy and lots of great thing have been happening too! A week back, I bought my love, passion and everything else, my dream bike, the Pulsar 200. I’ll be posting pictures of it soon (if you’re curious enough, check out one snap of it in my orkut album). Also, yesterday, I built my spanking new computer! Check out the specs ![]()
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8GHz
Intel DG31PR Motherboard
2GB DDR2 Transcend RAM
500GB SATA Seagate HDD
Samsung SyncMaster 17″ TFT-LCD
Cooler Master Elite 334 Chassis
nVidia GeForce 8400 GS
I’m in the process of restoring backups and setting up my OS (switching to Vista finally!). So I’ll be posting very soon. And don’t forget to listen to songs from Delhi-6. Mind-blowing. Cheers ![]()

so ur year is rocking enjoy buddy……hope i ll drive ur bike soon

Noooo!!!! not vista!!!
anything but that!!! please don’t spoil that new PC (Which i’m obviously jealous of)!! But still…… get the latest Xp Sp3 and put the upgrades and wait for windows 7!!! it’ll be out in 3 months or so!!!!
@jagadis: Thanks for the concern, I’ve used XP (with SPs) for over 4 years and was quite content with it. However, Vista isn’t that bad as people make it out to be. Even XP wasn’t adopted quickly. It took similar (if not the same amount) of trashing from users for compatibility issues and such. I’ve been testing Windows 7 for a while and absolutely love it (hope it’ll be out by July). But Vista, and add to that SP1 or even SP2 beta, is IMO a great OS. I for one am a sucker for eye-candy and just love Aero. Maybe I’ll write up my experiences in a month or so after having used Vista and let you know. But I dare say I beg to differ
Hey definetly……don’t go for vista…..and XP sp3 is a big no no..if u wan an windows OS,stick 2 XP but not service pack 3.
@Namrata: Uhm.. Why not SP3? It made the best OS even better!
dude dont change to vista…. it needs lotsa drivers to be installed and its hard to find drivers for webcams especially zebronics make, bluetooth dongle drivers are a bit harder to find
so if u really want to switch over to vista do a good ground work first. i switched over from vista to xp coz ansys did not work in vista
adn regarding SP3 for xp i did not see any improvements except the windows Media Player 11 and IE7 that comes bundled. You mite as well download these seperatly and install them. (if u use IE that is
). SP3 doesnt support Directx10 unlike vista. wonder why they released SP3
real dumb….!!!
@Parikshith: Regarding driver issues with Vista, thats quite an old story. Everything is Vista-compatible nowadays! (Remember that XP had such issues when it came out and 1 or 2 years down the lane, it was the best!). And don’t go by just what you see. In XP SP3, MS added a multitude of hotfixes and confilct resolves. For a detailed research, google for ‘secret changes in sp3′.
Most of the changes are not really goin to be used and regarding the drver-vista problem. It is not true that everything is vista compatible! i couldnt find a proper vista driver for my dual shock joypad! and for my webcam i had to keep googling with different keywords for nearly an hour! and i still havent got a proper working driver for my bluetooth dongle. few of my college mates had problems installing games on vista :p Also ANSYS doesnt work in vista (the LATEST release works i think not very sure)
I might as well haev a dual boot with vista for eye candy ( :p ) and xp for the programs etc
Atleast i dont have to keep searching for drivers
