The hair-raising experience
Aiyayo! – This was the barber’s initial reaction when I walked in for a haircut. “Enna thambi romba naala aalaye kaanom?” came next. He was right, I hadn’t been there for a year! He discussed how to cut my hair with his assistant for 10 minutes before picking up the electric razor.
As I had been growing my hair for almost a year, everyone kept asking me why. Ever since I was young, I’ve always wanted to grow my hair long as I believe it mirrored my fiercely free-spirited nature. Honestly, I just could not explain this to those people and expect them to understand me. I just told them that it was for a vaendudhal

One morning last week, I woke up and I decided to shave my head off. All of my friends were shocked when they saw me. I had always told them that I had no plans for cutting my hair and there I was, almost bald. In fact, I broke the news to most of my friends on Orkut and Twitter only today!
Just to clear some things. No, I did not cut it because of my parents (they actually scolded me for cutting it!). No it wasn’t parasitic organisms. So why then did I cut it off? I don’t know
. It was one of those amazing spur-of-the-moment things! Stay tuned for more earth shattering news.
