James Cameron’s Avatar Teaser Trailer is here!
James Cameron’s much awaited CGI magnum-opus Avatar has been in the making for almost 4 years now. It is scheduled to be released on December 18, 2009. Cameron wanted to make this movie right after Titanic, but had to wait for the photorealistic CGI technology “to mature”. Imagine the possibilities when a guy wants to make a $200 million movie but actually waits for the graphics industry to catch up with his ideas. Well, take a look at the official HQ trailer for Avatar and gape.
For the uninitiated, Avatar is the story of Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), a US Marine who is wounded on duty. He is sent to the beautiful planet Pandora, inhabited by another race called Na’vi. As Pandora’s atmosphere is different from that of the Earth, humans have created human-Na’vi hybrids, called Avatars. These Avatars are tied to a human’s mind and controlled by them. Jake enrolls for the program and takes on control of a scout Avatar. As he travels across Pandora, he falls in love with the planet’s beauty and also, with a female Na’vi warrior. So now he’s torn between Earth’s forces and the Na’vis, forced to choose between them as a great battle ensues. Some story!
